GRWM ft. NovoGlow: What I Spray When I'm Overthinking My Outfit

GRWM ft. NovoGlow: What I Spray When I'm Overthinking My Outfit

We all have those days, where the clothes just aren’t giving what they’re supposed to give. I call it the Closet Spiral. You try on five outfits then stare at yourself under that weird bedroom lighting, and still feel like something’s off. But here’s the plot twist: it’s not the outfit.

It’s the energy.

And that’s where fragrance steps in. My personal hack? When I can’t settle on the look, I settle into a scent. A good perfume rewires the whole vibe. It’s the thing that makes even your messiest “I’m-late” outfit feel like a style statement.

So here’s me, walking you through my Get Ready With Me ritual, ft. my favorite mood-matchers from NovoGlow—because smelling like a thousand bucks shouldn’t actually cost that much.

The Crisis Begins: 9:42 a.m. and Already Over It

When the outfit is fine... but you're still not feeling yourself

I start with a white tank and tailored trousers. Minimalist, sure. But a little flat. The kind of outfit that could pass as chic or lazy depending on how I wear it. That’s a lot of pressure.

So I reach for something that adds polish without overpowering.

✦ Paris For Her

It smells like confidence and clean lines with a touch of flirt. It has bright citrus with soft florals, and that warm, cozy finish. It turns a simple outfit into something intentional. Three spritzes later, I look in the mirror and don’t see “underdressed.” I see effortless. I finish my hair. I relax my shoulders. Game on.

Mid-Spiral Mode: When Outfit #4 Still Isn’t Working

The vibe is too chill and not in a good way

Now it’s jeans, a black tee, and a blank stare at the mirror. I’m supposed to meet a friend for coffee, and I feel like a walking “meh.”

I need energy. Not from caffeine from fragrance.

✦ Paris Women

This one’s floral. It is a flirty scent that is  kind of unexpected. Think happy-girl energy in a bottle. One airy mist and I feel like I made this outfit cute on purpose. It's light. It is  joyful, and gives my neutral look some actual personality.

Suddenly the mirror is my friend again.

The Dress I Want to Love But Don’t

It's giving “trying too hard,” but I’m too stubborn to give up on it

You know the dress, it fits great, it should work... but something's always off. Mine is beige and boxy and weirdly elegant. I almost give up on it again, but instead, I reach for something that makes me feel grown.

✦ Valuable Pour Femme

Blackcurrant. Jasmine. Soft vanilla. This one is deep. It is rich, and quietly powerful. I put it on and the dress doesn’t feel awkward, it feels intentional. Like I’m the kind of girl who pairs neutrals with a bold scent because she knows exactly who she is.

(Or at least I can pretend to be her until I believe it.)

Clock Is Ticking: Running Late and Feeling Basic

At this point, I just need to feel cute

I’ve thrown on a hoodie with high-waisted jeans, and I’m contemplating cancelling. But then I remember: I don’t need a better outfit, I just need a better mood.

✦ Daicy Pour Femme

Wild berries, soft violets, and that clean floral warmth that says “put together,” even if I’m anything but. I spray it on and suddenly I’m in my own indie movie. A little undone, but totally charming.

And honestly? I’m ready.

Minimalist Fit, But I Still Want to Look Like I Tried

When you’re wearing a white button-up and calling it “style”

This is my “clean girl” fallback hair slicked back, light makeup, white shirt, black pants. But sometimes it just feels... unfinished.

✦ Infinity

This one is timeless. Soapy-fresh florals that wrap around you like a soft white shirt and gold hoops. It makes my simple outfit feel expensive. Like I walked out of a minimalist mood board and didn’t even mean to.

Just one spray on my sleeves and I’m no longer underdressed. I’m effortless.

Linen, Sunshine, and That Missing Spark

The outfit says summer, but my soul still feels like winter

Linen pants. Ribbed tank. Sunny outside. I should feel breezy, but somehow I feel... beige.

So I go in for something that feels like summer in a bottle.

✦ Blue Sky

Fruity, bright, and slightly salty like sea air. This scent is freedom. It’s the warm sun on your shoulders and the sound of your sandals clicking on cobblestones. I spritz a little on my collarbone and suddenly I’m not just dressed—I’m in a whole different mood.

Scent First, Overthinking Later

The truth is, I don’t always know what to wear. But I do know how I want to feel. And when the outfit doesn’t get me there, I let scent take the lead.

Fragrance isn’t an afterthought. It’s not the final layer. It’s the first yes I say to myself on those unsure mornings.

NovoGlow makes that possible without making my wallet cry. Every one of these perfumes gives me options—not just for outfits, but for energy, confidence, and how I move through the world.

So the next time you’re staring at a pile of clothes and nothing feels right?

Start with the scent.
